Wall Restored

From the very first, this house has been one compilation of projects done poorly.  Sixty years of sub standard work starts to really add up.  First, the original outer wall was a strange mix of shortcuts.  Then when they brought in city water, they just soldered the copper onto the old galvanized in the wall.  It wasn't long before it leaked, since the old door hing kept banging the door right into the plumbing joint.  Brilliant.  One leak after another for who knows how long, and right into the untreated sill plate.  Moisture and time?  You guessed it.  Mold.  Once that moldy wall was gone, all we had to do was rebuild it from the bottom up, quite literally.  Got a new treated sill plate, slightly adjusted the top plate, then measured and notched the studs, and finally secured the header for the closet door.  A few pipe clamps on the PEX and its as good as new.  Ready for the electrical, then sheetrock.
