So finally the old timbers are gone. slightly before the treated lumber finally began to decompose into the very gardens themselves, I was able to pry them up and toss them out back for now. Once they were gone, all I needed was to lay out the stonework, level out the ground and lay a solid foundation for what was to become my new front flower beds.
With a few trips out mothers day weekend for some fantastic perennials, the gardening genes prevail. We designed, landscaped, built and planted both beds in about 24 hours. just in time for the week long rains to come. Just a bit more touch up is needed on the end of the longer wall, but thats hidden behind the tree for now.
